The Nifty-Fifty
Nikon 50mm f1.8
The plastic fantastic is many photographers first fast aperture lens. And at $100 price point its a great addition to your camera bag. It is a popular portrait lens on FX (FUll Frame Bodies) and when attached to a DX (Crop Sensor) it effectively become s a 75mm focal length, giving you some distance to your subject. The fixed prime has good optical performance. For me the f1.8 was really the first lens that introduced me to bokeh, background blur and depth of field.
COmbined with the reverse ring you can even make it into a macro lens
